Buzz Bean

In the misty green highlands of Colombia, two coffee beans shared an unshakable bond. Benny Bean, known by his friends as Buzz, and Bill McBean were inseparable. Born on the same branch, basking in the same sun, and dreaming of a life beyond the plantation.

While other beans anxiously awaited their destiny in the harvest basket, Bill had different plans. Clever and cautious, he avoided the collection basket by camouflaging himself beneath a leaf and rolling away at night. Buzz, on the other hand, stayed chill, embracing each day with a mellow grin and his favorite line:

“It’s all good.”

Bill’s journey was stealthy and strategic. Buzz’s path? Let’s just say it was a little more… spontaneous. After a psychedelic detour through Central America, a hitchhiking stint through Mexico, and a week meditating with surfers in Santa Cruz, Buzz eventually tumbled his way into Boston. He didn’t check maps or schedules. He followed the vibes—and a strong whiff of dark roast that led him to Maria’s café.

When Bill saw Buzz roll through the front door wearing a tie-dye shirt, bandana and hemp sandals—his face cracked into a wide, bean-shaped grin.

“Buzz?”

“Billy Mac, my brewther! Long time no steam! It’s all good!”

They embraced like old vines reuniting on a branch. Maria, watching from behind the counter, couldn’t help but laugh.

“You two go way back, huh?”

Buzz nodded. “From the same shrub.”

Buzz didn’t want to just sip lattes and reminisce. He had a dream too, well, more like a feeling. A hazy, mellow, slow-motion vision: a place where beans like him could chill, vibe, and elevate. Within a month, he opened The Green Grind, a boutique marijuana dispensary, close to Maria’s café.

The neighborhood quickly embraced Buzz’s laid-back charm. Artists, students, and curious tourists flocked to The Green Grind for organic blends with names like Tranquilo Tango, Foggy Forest, and Macchiato Moonrise. Every bag came with a handwritten note:

“Stay grounded, float high. – Buzz”

Today, if you wander down a certain cobblestone street in Boston, you might catch a whiff of Arabica and something a little... greener. Stop into Maria’s and ask for the “Buzz & Bill Special”, a double shot espresso with a dash of cinnamon and a wink.

If you’re lucky, you might find Buzz lounging in a hammock out back, handing out wisdom between puffs and sips.

“Life’s a roast, just don’t let it burn. It’s all good.”  he’ll say with a lopsided grin.
